Recreation Site Maintenance

In June of 2006 KVL entered into a small contract with BC Timber Sales for park maintenance. Two band members were hired to maintain Red Sand Lake park, Hart Farm park, and Pine Lake park. Maintenance of the parks occurred from June until mid September in 2006.

George Cooley and Mark Bolton did a great job on the recreational site maintenance. The contract was scheduled to end after the August long weekend.

George and Mark wrapped up their season in the first week of September. The contract received a two week extension to fix up the trails and other work.

BCTS extended KVL’s contract for a short time, which began in the first week of October. Two members from the fisheries crew, Bill Bolan and Vern Horner, were hired to fix the trails and replace the cribbing around the camp sites. Next year’s contract will be a direct award to KVL
